Cannot reach this page

I've been unable to reach this page
http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi
after many attempts over two days. I always get the familiar message:
"The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site
might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to
adjust your browser settings."

I thought at first it was a Firefox problem, but I'm now getting it
from MSIE6 too.

Others have advised they can get to it OK. So can anyone suggest what
might be causing the problem here, and how I can fix it please?

Four things to try - to get to your original issue with the site you
mentioned:

1. Clear your TIF and History completely:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

2. Check your Cookies folder and delete any cookies that relate to the
sites in question.

3. Check your Hosts file as per this article:

4. Assuming XP - Go to a Command prompt (Start...Programs...Accessories)
and type in:

ipconfig /flushdns

Hit Enter.

4. Assuming XP - Go to a Command prompt (Start...Programs...Accessories)

ipconfig /flushdns

Hit Enter.

In case it's of interest, when trying that last one (which was
recommended elsewhere too) I hit a puzzle. I got an error if I used
plain 'ipconfig'. I found I had to enter the full path, so that the
entire Command Prompt looked like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Terry
Pinnell>C:\WINDOWS\system32\ipconfig.exe /flushdns (or /displaydns
etc).

I had advice to check my 'environmental paths', but they seemed to be
OK. I was then advised to recreate the path in the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\Environment if it didn't already have the data type
REG_EXPAND_SZ. Immediately after doing so, plain ipconfig still didn't
work, but I'm pleased to find this morning after a reboot (which
apparently was necessary to get that Host file change to take effect),
that too now works fine.
