cannot print correctly...

Jason Sandlin

hi
i just set up a new computer on a netware network, and i
cannot get the printer that is on the server to work
correctly. when i print, all that prints is the banner
page with the user name real big, and the source from
where it was printed. that is all. the document does not
print. when i turn the banner page off on the client, it
just puts out a blank sheet of paper. Please let me know
what is going on asap!!
thanks
Jason

how are you printing? ndps? queue?
what nwclient version are you using?
what exact driver are you using?
can you print directly to the printer correctly?
is the jetdirect & printer firmware (if necessary) updated?

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to let you know there is a site that may be of some use. A
lot of people who work with Novell products, and are VERY good with
implementations and troubleshooting, frequent the site. You can find it at:

it is printing via que, and im not sure of the version of
the client. the driver that ships with xp pro is the one
that i am using. i tried downloading another driver, but
it locks the computer up when i try to use it.

im not sure of the client version, because i dont recall
installing any client software. i just went to the
propertied of the nic, and installed the client for
netware networks, and logged into the server with the new
user i created with the admin console. i have the nwlink
( i belienve) in the control panel, and that is where i
can turn off the banner page. there are other computers
on the same network, but none of them are xp. they all
work perfect.

please help!! im stuck. im real familiar with netware,
but i think it is version 3.75 or something like that.

thanks
jason

Ok, there is no 3.75 version of NetWare, if you go to the console & type
"version" it should tell you exactly what it is. Try the lj631en.exe file
for drivers, they work great for me.
