cannot open word or access files

How are you trying to open the files (File,Open, Double clicking a file in
'File Explorer', clicking on a recently used file...?)

Is your machine on its own or part of a network?

Do you have any 'removable' drives (Zip drives, re-writable CD/DVD etc.)

With some more information, someone may be able to help you out... ;-)
