cannot open program due to "not enough physical memory"

I recently installed a program called Pinnacle Studio (used to make
movies/slideshows). Each time I try to run the program, I get a message
saying
"Studio requires a minimum of 512 MB of physical memory to run. Your system
only has 246 MB." I tried looking this up in Help, but couldn't find
anything. I've deleted many older programs to open more space, yet the
message remains the exact same. My dad has the same computer as me and also
has the program and his works fine. Could someone tell me if this is a
problem that I can fix, and if so, how I could do so?

Thanks.

the message is referring to the
memory chip/ram and not your
disk space.

you may simply have to buy
a 256 ram memory chip and
install it on the motherboard.

adding 256megs to the 256megs
you already have will bring your
system into spec's for that program.

you can get more details from
the pc user manual or the pc's maker
website.

you might also want to install the
freeware at http://www.amsn.ro/
and use it to monitor your memory...

You don't need to free up space, that is hard drive space. What you need is
another stick of RAM memory. It plugs into your pc.

Deleting programs frees up disk space. That's entirely different from
memory.

How much *memory* do you have? Right-click on My Computer and choose
Properties. Tell us what it says there.
