low free physical memory

Hi. I almost allways have low RAM physical memory- just few tens Mb. When I
run Windows Movie Maker and want to publish movie, it totally drops to zero
and application crashes. On the first day I bought PC I could not watch DVD-
there were messages, that memory was low and I had to close other programs-
but none were open. And there were no other downloads.Anyway it fixed itself.
But Movie Maker crashes. Can anybody help with this ? Thank you

How much RAM do you have? Even though Microsoft says 512MB minimum, they
recommend 1GB. I would say you should plan on at least 2GB for Video work.
I running 2GB and I have had no problems,so far.

893 Mb. But that was only Windows Movie Maker.

Video rendering is one of the most intense, if not "THE" most intense, type
of work you can ask of a computer. The more RAM you throw at the system, the
more efficient (and reliable) the rendering program will operate. I would
not even try it under Vista without 2 gig of RAM. Even then I would shut
down everything I could for the duration.

Thank you for reply. RAM usage was 50-60 per cent and at the start of
rendering.if so why there were only 30 Mb of free physical memory? when it
dropped to zero it caused the application to crash. and as I wrote, on the
first day I bought PC I could not watch DVD-the message was 'too low memory'?
