Cannot open .pic file

I received an e-mail from friends with what I assume are pictures attached.
They are .pic files I have saved to my desktop but will not open when
double-clicked. Is there a Microsoft program that will open these files for
viewing?

This is not really a Windows XP issue, but since I'm in a good mood, I'll
answer you.

You will want to take a look at a site called FilExt. It is a file
extension search and it gives you all the information you need for virtually
any file extension.

I looked up the results for a .pic extension. You can take a look here

Basically, a .pic extension is used by many imaging applications, none of
which are made by Microsoft, however.

Lotus or Macintosh graphic/picture file. These will open with Corel's
PhotoPaint for sure. They probably will open with Irfanview as well but
I am not positive.
