cannot open database

i want to copy an mdb file from a cd.
whenever i try to copy the database in a folder i get the error message "cannot copy database:data error(cyclic redundancy check)".

but i can open the database from the cd. in the past i have copied the database from the cd many times but i have never come up with this error before!

could you please help me? i don't want to lose my data!

As long as you can open it (all of it), you won't lose your data. You can
always open it and export it into another database file. However, you may
not be accessing ALL of the file when you open it and there may be a bad
spot on the disk at a certain location. When you copy the file, all of the
file must be accessed. The first thing I would look for would be finger
prints or some other obstruction on the disk. If there is, use a soft tissue
to remove the obstruction.
