Cannot Open Database error

I have an application in Access 2007 in accdb format. I am on a stand alone
workstation with 1tb disk and 4gb ram, running as administrator in Windows
Vista Ultimate.

The current problem is when I try to copy a database using copyobject or
with a program I get a "cannot open database" error. When using the program
it executes as many as 368,000 times before giving the error. I need to move
670,000 records.

I was able to copy and paste a copy of the DB earlier but even that is
blocked. I've tried exiting to compact, re-booting to clear and buffers, but
no joy. Any suggestions?

There's only one thing I can think of. I had a similar problem, after
downloading a DB throught the internet. Try going to the file in Windows
Explorer, right clicking and selecting properties. What happened in my case
is the file was 'Blocked' (Windows isn't sure if the file is safe to open).
If that's the case, the properties dialog has an option to UnBlock it (or
something along those lines). If you don't see that option in the properties
then that's not the problem.

Thanks for the approach. I checked and it is not blocked. The folder is set
to "Trusted"

The problem is the program does write several thousand entries before giving
the message. It could open it, then decides for some reason it can't.

There may be some internal limits to buffers or counters that aren't
documented. I plan to move the app to SQLServer, but need results now - and
know there will be hassles converting a DB.
