Attachments can be very unsafe which is why new systems by default are set
to prevent opening them.
In Outlook Express, go to Tools, select Options, go to the Security tab,
remove the check from "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that
potentially could be a virus" and click apply and ok. That said, be sure to
save attachments before opening them and scan them with up to date antivirus
software. NOTE: most viruses are transmitted by friends, family and people
we know because once they are infected, the viruses usually access all the
addresses in their address book and send themselves to everyone else. That
is how these viruses propagate.

When ever someone sends me an attachment to an e mail, I cannot open it. I
get the following message when I click on it; "OE removed access to the
following unsafe attachments in your mail". This happens on every attachment
I am sent. Any clues anyone?
