cannot open "add/remove programs" in control panel

I just tried to remove an application I recently installed that instructed
the user to use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall. Turns out I can't open
Add/Remove programs in Control Panel for some reason. Any suggestions why
and how to fix it?
(I am owner/admin, nobody else uses the PC -- could a corruption of that
cause the problem? Just a thought.)

Hi,

Go to Start - Run and paste the following command then press enter.

%SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\appwiz.cpl

Does add/remove programs open?
 
Thanks Bert -- that opened add/remove programs, and now it also opens from
the Control Panel.

I have the same problem and have tried to do this but "add/remove" still doesnt work. Any other ideas?
