cannot open access 2003 reports

For some reason, I cannot open Microsoft Access 2003 reports on a particular
workstation. My assistant can open the reports on the same computer when she
logs on, but when I log on, I can only open tables and forms. I have
administrative privileges on this computer, so I should have full access to
Microsoft Access documents. I am able to open the reports on a different
computer. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Your user profile probably needs a default printer. Access reports won't
open if there is no printer defined.

I've seen Access _CRASH_ when it used certain printers

I had this client that was printing labels in some other program; and
his default printer was some wierd label making machine.. trying to
open some reports in Access would give a CRASH

So yeah; i would definitely reccomend not having anything fishy setup
for your default printer

Thank you both for your suggestions. My default printer is set to a network
printer that my lab assistant also uses as her default printer, but lo and
behold, when I remove that printer and just use "Microsoft Image Manager" (or
something like that) as my only printer, I am then able to see reports. I
will at least now be able to give our tech dept. some idea of how to fix this
[I still want my network printer to be my default printer], and whenever I
need to read the report, I can temporarily change default printers.

Thanks,
Mike
