Hi All,

I am having a login problem that I am hoping someone can
help me with, or, at least point me in the right direction.

I am running W2K Professional, Version 5.0.2195 Build 2195
I have two hard drives; C: drive and D: drive

I can successfully boot up, and login (authenticate
completely) if I start my computer up by booting from the
C: drive.

My problem is this: I can successfully boot when using
the D: drive. However, when I try to login (using D:
drive), it will not allow me to login. Whenever I put in
my login name and password, and then hit ENTER, it acts as
though it is searching for my profile, trying to
authenticate me. In a second or two, it stops the login
process and then immediately loops me right back to the
Login dialog box, asking me once again to login! It never
allows me to authenticate; whenever I give a login name
and password, it always loops me right back to the Login
box. Any ideas?

The reason I want to be able to login using my D: drive is
because my user profile, etc are contained on the D: drive
as well as all my updated applications, data, etc. I am
not looking to try to solve this problem by moving data
from D: drive to C: drive, etc. I would like to solve
this problem from the standpoint of solving the Login
issue so that I can authenticate from the D: drive.

Any comments or offers of help is deeply appreciated ahead
of time...

Thanks,

Rob Sandifer
