Cannot locate Send message button in Outlook 2000 Professional

I recently bought a new Compaq Presario computer and loaded Office 2000
Professional. When I went into Outlook to compose an email message, I
noticed I did not have a Send mail icon. I checked the Tools drop down menu
and I also could not find the Send/Receive icon. I can compose messages but
not send them. The computer came with SP3 and I downloaded the recommended
Office 2000 Professional downloads and still no luck. This is getting
frustrating because my Outlook Express is now acting up and I keep getting a
pop up window that says it is not my primary email program.

Hopefully someone can help

A new computer came with Office 2000? Hard to imagine.
Loading Office would do nothing to configure your email accounts. Did you do
that? No Send button usually = No mail accounts. You've left out too much
information for anyone to help.

Let me add more info. The system came with Windows XP. I loaded Office 2000
Professional, which I had purchased for my previous computer and wanted to
load onto this one. When I loaded this on my previous computer, I did not
have to do anything regarding the configuring of my email accounts. If I
need to do this, how do I go about doing that? I appeciate any help you can
give me.

I would suggest configuring your mail accounts in Outlook using the
instructions your mail provider gave you.

The lack of a "Send" button in Outlook 2000 can mean that it's been setup in
"No Email" mode. You can check Outlook's operating mode from the
"Help|About" screen and this page may help"
