I cannot load a purchased version of XP home on a new hard drive, or on a
re-formated old drive, I get errors that "file cannot be copied". I have
tried several other xp disks with same result. I removed all cards and am
trying it with a Dell Demension 3000. HELP....

I have seen this occasionally and each time it was due to sub-standard RAM,
or due to the fact that the RAM was being run outside of it's stated specs.

Problems copying files or corrupted files during installation are
most often caused by defective or sub-standard hardware; in order of
likelihood, either RAM, the hard drive, or the motherboard. On very
rare occasions the installation CD is the problem.
