Cannot install Vista RC1 5600 - Error code 0x80004005

I am trying to install Vista 5600 RC1, and after starting the installation,
the computer reboots, and goes back into Windows Setup, then immediately I
get an error box that says "Windows was unable to assign a drive letter to
one of the partitions on your drive. Error code: 0x80004005

Anyone know why it would be doing this? I have literally been unable to
install Windows Vista since build 5270 because of various errors, each build
does the same thing, this time it's a new problem but still can't install the
OS =(

Suggest unplugging any slave hard drives except the master as well as any
slave cd\dvd drives, then try again.

Typical MS Pro support. I too am having the same problem installing Vista RC1
on a Dell XPS Gen2 7200 RPM 60 GB HD w/ 11.5 GB free. I'm asking it to format
the drive when it gives me the above error. Based on the number of other
people who have asked in previous emails they are few, however, no one has
provided a definative answer. I think I'll stick with my wife Imac and OSX
10.4. Apple has it right and once Leopard comes out MS again will be behind
the proverbial 8 ball.

MS does the view ever change, do you get "burn in" from the constant 8 ball
in your field of vision?
