cannot install printer

Windows XP will not allow printer to be isctalled.
Receive error message "RPC Server is unavailable"

Printers were installed recently but do noit show or
available now.
 
Ensure the print spooler is running...

From the command prompt, type

net start spooler

(and hit enter)

Do the printers now reappear?
