cannot install printer

i am trying ti install a hp printer.i keep getting
message access is denied.when i try the add printer
wizard i get action cannot be completed.please help!

Hello,tell me what you are doing re attempting to install printer?also is it new,and what condition is the disc in>then may be able to help,regards.Mar

thanks for responding.it's plug and play.an older hp

deskjet.it's working on my other system with xp and disk
is fine.
