cannot install IIS

I have XP pro, with service pack 2.
When I try to install IIS, I get the msg to insert the SP 2 CD, which I
don't have,
I see someone else posted this same problem, and the answer was to point the
installer to C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386, but I don't seem to have this
folder.

I don't know what to do. Very frustrating. Can anyone help?

First question is, was the original installation one that already included
SP2? If so, then the prompt is to insert your original Windows XP CD.
Otherwise...

Since you were prompted to insert the CD, that indicates that you installed
SP2 from a CD. I *believe* that won't create the folder you were pointed to.
I *believe* that only the downloaded version of SP2 will do that.

Suggest you either locate another SP2 CD or download the stand-alone version
from here (266 MB):

I *believe* that will create the folder you were pointed to.

I thought my SP2 came from a download; I don't have it on a CD. I download
updates frequently from Microsoft and I don't have that servicepack folder.
Sounds like I need to have it on a CD, so will go down that path. The real
goal here is to install ISS. Thanks for the help!

I have a problem installing IIS on the new IBM thinkpads...t60p, I heard a
rumor that Lenovo that it making it difficult to install Microsoft products…
but we bought a new t60p, and we found out you cannot install IIS, we even
went on the limb and order 3, and all have the same exact problem, during
install, it freezes at the 75% mark. We contacted MS, and they even tried to
install it, with no success. Hav you encountered this problem?
