cannot insert a COMMENT into an ENDNOTE

My client needs to be able to insert comments into endnotes in a document she
is editing.

She can insert comments into the regular text, but when she attempts to
insert a comment into the endnotes the comment icon disappears from the tool
bar.

It reappears when she clicks her cursor back onto the body of the text.

HOW can she insert a comment into an endnote??

No can do, I'm pretty sure. Just not a supported feature. You can ask for
it at (e-mail address removed), or post a Suggestion in the web interface (if
the interface offers the option).

Conceivably some macros could replicate the appearance of comments....
