Hey, I hope someone here can help...

I really need to know the ip addrress of my PC , when i type cmd in the
'run' prompt the window comes up but then it won't actually let me input any
text... I want to back up all my photos to another computer and I want to do
this by using a shared folder. How do I get my ip addrress if I cannot use
the command prompt?

I really hope someone here can help me out, thanks!

Sounds like your PC is infected with malware. Instead of
running the Command Processor, you may be running some
crappy substitute. Try typing the full command name in
the Run window, e.g.

c:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe {OK}

Thanks fot that, I typed in what you gave me above, clicked 'ok' and was returned with 'Another program is currently using this file' I've had this message before also when trying to access the command window, how do I get rid off this malware? Thank you.

Windows will never issue this message when you try to invoke
the Command Processor cmd.exe. You can invoke it any number
of times. I'm beginning to suspect that your machine has picked
up a bad virus, not just malware. Perhaps a scan with a good
virus scanner will tell you what's going on.
