Hi All..and sorry for my bad english..-;)

I made PRF file with assistance this link - "To create a PRF file in
the Custom Installation Wizard" -
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011364251033.aspx

When I tried import this file (I ran this command line - "outlook.exe
/ importprf \\server\file.prf" ) - I saw next :

- outlook started with wizard screen .."This wizard can setup your
connection with Exch.Server or Internet MAil account or another
service . Do you wish setup your mail account ?" And two answer - "Yes"
and "No"

- If I choose "Yes" the next screen appear with caption - "Select
server type for your mail account". There are five variants in it - 1.
Exchange Server
2. POP3
3. IMAP
4. HTTP
5. Another service type

And so on...I must continue creating the mail account manually.

My question is - what wrong I have done ? ...and what I SHOULD do to
import PRF-file?

There is no space between the / character and the switch. In other words, you have / importprf when it must be /importprf

\\server\file.prf isn't a complete UNC path. It would need to be \\server\share\file.prf

And the quotes may be misplaced if he used them as he stated.

Sue, I have searched the newsgroup and have read as many of your replies as i
could find. however, i'm still not nailing this importprf function.
first of all, if i run the "outlook.exe /importprf \\server\share\file.prf"
my default folder comes up with no exchange configured.
If i navigate to the share and double click on the file, it opens just fine
with my exchange settings.
any ideas?

second part: how should this be deployed? we're building a fresh load for
our computers, but i would like this to be a part of everyone's machine from
here on out. that way, if changes need to be made, they can be made in one
place.

thanks in advance,

Blue

The best deployment method would be to use the Custom Installation Wizard for a new install or the Custom Maintenance Wizard for an existing installation to handle the details of (a) deploying the .prf file locally to the user's machine and (b) setting the registry values to import the .prf details when Outlook starts, in other words, without the /importprf switch.

The symptoms suggest that you are pointing to a file other than the one that you're double-clicking on or that the the command-line switch is misspelled.
