Cannot get to Internet Options

D

Dan

Recently, everytime I try to access Internet Options, I
get the message: "This operation has been cancelled due
to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please
contact your system administrator". It's my computer,
I'm the only one using it! I've done some research and
one hint was that I set this up on my own using AdAware.
I had that software a while ago, but not anymore! Do I
need to re-install AdAware to get rid of this problem?

Dan,

Download the following Utility:

http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_securityconsole.htm

Load it up and on the right hand side click the "Internet Control Panel"
options, ensure that none of the tabs in there are Checked. Mainly the first
one. If they are check uncheck them and then apply the change. that should
give you access back to you Internet Explorer Options. If this isn't the
case please post back. You should also consider downloading AdAware again
and give it a run, just to ensure you don't have any Adware or Spyware
installed.
