Greetings,

I am trying to use a GeForce3 Ti200 for dual monitors.

I have 2 17" monitors -
* one detects as Acer 17"
* one detects as plain "analog monitor"

I am using XP Prof, updated, and 93.71 nVidia drivers.

I have had this working before on another system, but here, under Display Properties - I do NOT see the second display.
And under the nVidia control panel there is NO option for dual view.

I tried the monitor detect - no fix.
I have tried swapping the monitors over - no fix.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it won't work?

Could it be because one monitor is detecting as plain analog?
Does that make it not work?

Any comments welcome.

I would tend to uninstall the Nvidea drivers, then reinstall them

Thanks for reply :)

Yah,
tried that - with both monitors plugged in - no fix.

In the nVidia control panel -
I tried the display detect, even the Rigorous Detect with TV option - no fix

I also tried UltraMon - it says only 1 monitor.

One thing I've noticed -
when I plug in the 2nd monitor, the 1st goes slightly dim.
When I unplug it, back to normal brightness.

Dunno if that represents a fault or not?

I suspect the old Gef3 maybe faulty...

Its possible, I assume in the Nvidea utility that if the second display is
shown, its not disabled?
Its a while since I used Nvidea dual, but I seem to recollect that in
hardware devices there were two seperate drivers/devices shown for a dual
display. I also once had considerable difficulty getting a clean
installation of the Nvidea drivers, when I checked the various files some of
them were earlier version files; the installation was corrupt. I had to use
a vid driver cleaner utility to completely remove all Nvidea drivers, prior
to reinstalling, that cured the problem.

Thanks again,

Sadly,
it's not shown at all...
I see only 1 monitor there.

In fact,
at no stage has any program or panel shown any indication of their being 2.

Looks like card is dud :-(

Oh well...

You might also try two programs which ensure all other graphic card
drivers are removed as well before reinstalling the nVidia Driver
(also, make sure it's the correct driver for the card you have!).
Two cleaners that I have used with good results are "Driver Cleaner 3"
(Now apparently "Driver Cleaner.NET" @$9.99 at
http://www.drivercleaner.net/) and "Nasty File Remover" - AKA NFR.exe
at http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3233.html Free!
Good Luck!
