Cannot establish trust

K

Kevin Culpepper

Hi

I have a situation here where I am trying to trust another domain in another
forest and I am getting the error " Access to the domain <domainname> is
denied. Check that the password is correct and try again"

Both domains are Windows 2000 domains and both DC's are able to resolve one
another's names. The trust password was checked and rechecked and the same
error occurs.

When the other domain sets up its part of the trust first, he can resolve
my domain and they are no errors but when I try to set up the other part of
the trust the error occurs.

I even tried being the trusted domain and set up as the domain to be trusted
first and I got the same error.

Any ideas are appreciated

Make sure you have closed all connections between the two servers before
setting up the trust. (No mapped drives, not looking at it in Network
neighborhood, etc.)

Having a connection can screw up the trust.
