Cannot Enter Desired Value

When I enter a number (229.65) then hit "enter" or "tab", I ge
"2.30E+02". What the heck is that and how do I turn it off
 
You probably accidentally formatted your cell as Scienfific.
Remedy: Format>Cells>Number>General, or some other standard or custom
format.
