Cannot enter any more text in a text field - MS Word 2007

On a 2003 MS Word template that is now being used with MS Word 2007, a field
that has never given problems before is now truncating after 151 characters.
Other fields on the same document give no problem. The user cannot enter any
more information into that field. This field worked fine in Word 2003.

1. How do I get in and see what the field properties are?
2. What are possible causes of the problem?
3. How can I fix this issue?
 
Unprotect the document (use the Stop Protection button on the Restrict
Formatting and Editing task pane). Then you can double-click the field to
see its properties. Make sure that "Maximum length" is set to "Unlimited."
