cannot empty the Clipboard

Error message in Excel, "Cannot Empty the Clipboard".
What does this mean and how do I get rid of it?
My clipboard is not active and empty.
It gives me the error EVERY time I try to copy or paste something.
I can't work with this error coming up.

Thanks, but I am not running the program.
I copied something from a file opened from a zip file. Once I closed the
file, I stopped getting the message, but it still doesn't make sense.

I have the same problem and not running GetRight either.

I haven't pinpointed the problem. But this is what I did to fix it without
rebooting.

1) Close Excel
2) Open Windows Explorer and go to your local profile path. Mine is...
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel
3) Move all files in this location to your desktop or a temp folder. Do not
delete them as you may need to restore them to this location.
4) Launch Excel again

You should be able to copy/paste now. It worked for me.
