Cannot empty Recycler

Martin

I am having a problem with my Recycler folder. It contains
over 300,000 files and I am unable to delete them. I have
tried emptying the Recycler using the recycle bin - it
appears empty (but it isn't). I have also tried using the
information in the Knowledge Base article 229041 "Files
are not deleted from recycler folder", but it does not
recognise the SID.

The main problem arises when I want to run my antivirus
check as it starts to scan all of the files in the
Recycler and hence takes hours & hours to run.

Can anybody suggest a solution?
Many Thanks,
Martin

Can you highlight the files you want to delete ( use
Control + A) and then hold the shift button and press
delete,This should bypass the recycle bin and just trash
the files in question...

The problem is that the files already exist in the
Recycler folder (at the latest count nearly 500,000 and
11Gb of them)- they are not new files that I want to
delete. I also can't access the Recycler folder to see
what the files are or try and delete them (explorer just
hangs up.
