When i go to empty my Deleted items folder, I get the usual message "Are you
sure you want to permanently the contents of the 'Deleted items' folder?" - I
click OK, and then nothing happens.

I have tried manually deleting the emails in my deleted items folder, and i
am able to delete some, but not all.

I see someone else had a similar problem with mail in their Outbox, and i
followed the link to the suggested patch for that, but did not download
because I do not know if I have Vista 64-bit or 32-bit (How does one know
which version of vista they have?? I only know i am running Vista Business.)

Thank you for any help you may have for me!

Aloha!

p.s. My system is also sounding like a race car. If you tilt it sideways or
vertically, sometimes it will shush up - but it's rather difficult to work on
a laptop when it's standing on it's head. Any advise on this? Acrobat
lessons perhaps? :p

If you don't know whether you have 32-bit Vista or 64-bit Vista, you
probably have the 32-bit version. The wrong version of the patch just
won't do anything, so try both versions if you need to.

Hi ALL,

Have read most of the replies on this subject amnd am now running out of
patience to be honest - have been pointed at websites, links help groups etc
but to NO avail. this never happened in the old XP days - is this another MS
rush to market and sort later issue - will it ever get sorted!!!!!!!!

Like most of you, I cannot delete from my deleted items in Outlook.
However, this only applies to the original 120 messages - all items after
this I am able to delete, but not by using the "delete all items" function -
I have to go into the folder highlight the items for deletion then delete in
chunks! not very elegant but it works - however the orignal 120 are still
there and why I try manual delete I recieve the "an uknown error has occured"
- well pardon me, but that much I know!! I have tried purging, reseting the
older options and nothing seems to work.

Any help with this would be greatfuly appreciated - on top of that - VISTA
runs like a dog with one leg!! - I have removed, reset and optimised where I
can and have plenty of memory and disk space, but still runs like a 386 - Is
this s typical by product of VISTA????????????

yours frustratedly
