Cannot Edit & Save Linked Table Data using a Form

Hello All -

Having trouble editing the data from a linked table (Excel source) in a
form. I seem to be able to open the table itself (in Access), edit and then
save the data. I can also open the Excel spreadsheet, edit and then save the
data. BUT, when I build a form based on the linked Access table I can open
the form, display the data, but when I try to edit and save I can't do it --
often corrupting the underlying Excel file in the process.

What am I doing wrong?
Please help, and thanks.

Hello Van T. Dinh -

Thank you for the reply -- however, I didn't provide enough user information
in my first post.
The people using this database don't have the experience to even
import/export, that's why I used a form.
I need to be able to edit and save the data using a form within Access, any
possible suggestions?

I should also have provided the version: Access 2002 and Excel 2002.
Thanks again for your help,
John

Sorry. I intentionally avoid trying to get Access and
Excel to work together. Like I wrote, they are merely
good friends but they do have altercations.

I don't use Excel as a database application either so I
rarely have to do import/export or link Excel spreadsheet.

I leave it for someone who had better luck with linking
Excel spreadsheet to Access to answer your question since
I am sure I didn't do anything wrong (neither did you) to
corrupt the Excel file.

Thanks Again, Van T. - I'm going to try and do the task completely within
Access instead of using Excel.
