My understanding of the issue is that you cannot add more contacts when you invite a Distribution List even if you delete the meeting and recreate it.
In your post, you said you cannot add more contacts. Could you please let us know how do you add the additional contacts so that we can look into the
issue more efficiently. The steps to add more contacts are:
1. Go to Calendar.
2. Double click on the Recurrence Meeting Request, when it prompt "Open Recurring Item", select "Open the series" and hit OK.
3. Under either Appointment tab or Scheduling tab, we can add more contacts.
Please go through the steps above and let me know what has happened on your site. If possible, please provide me with any screen shots or error

I created a recurring meeting, inviting a Distribution Group. But after I
save it, i cannot go back and add more contacts. I tried deleteing the
meeting and recreating it, same thing.
