Cannot download win updates

[cjv01 \(remove\)]

when i try to load patches and packs, i get an activex
control message. If I go ahead i am allowed to download
the installer, but when the updates come along i get
a "the trust provider is unknown etc." i have no updates
of any kind on my win XP and its playing hell with me
even although i have, cshredder, spybot, adaware 6 etc.
Sure could you some help. Gus.
