cannot downlaod programs using Cd disk

When I insert the disks into the drive and attempt to install the program, I
first receive this error message"set up.exe has encountered a problem and
needs to close" When I do an error report, I get a new message that the
problem was cuased by hardware disk drive-storage medium errors caused
unexpected program crash. It then directs you through steps to resolve the
problem, which involve using the command prompt,etc. I have tried this steps
numerous times and the problem remains. I have windows xp SP2, 2002 Thanks!

Your cdrom may just plain be bad...
but try copying the file to your harddrive and run setup from there
