System information displays the message wmi is missing or has become corrupt,
use system restore to a previous state to correct this problem.

anybody got any ideas what to do

If you can not do a system restore (goto Start/all
programs/accessories/system tools/system restore) and
select a date before you installed SP2 follow the online
insructions,or you could uninstall SP2(my computer/add &
remove programs, or you can do a system repair if you
have the full Windows disk, or you could try looking for
the missing file on your system disk, if not you will
have to do a reinstall which if you have not done one for
sometime will clean up your computer for you at the same
time, but dont forget to save any stuff that you have on
your computer first
