Cannot delete folders & files!!!!!!!!!!!

Trying to delete a redunant folder (& sub folders)and the
following error message is retunred - "Cannot delete
BTYPE_~5: cannot find the specified path ............"

Can anyone help with this?

Is there an extension to the file name?

If not, in the DOS prompt go to that folder's super-
directory (if it comes straight off of C:, then C: would
be the super) and type in the name of the folder with *.*
in place of the last character.
