Cannot connect with window messenger

A friend of mine has the exact same problem. I tried to
check every possible thing I know, but it's still there.

It doesn't matter what username/password used. The
accounts work fine on other machines, but not on hers.

She's using XP Pro.

Anyone have any ideas on this one ? Any more info needed ?

I am having the EXACT same problem on my wife's PC. I
can sign in just fine on my PC, but I cannot with hers.
I have tried uninstalling all components and even went so
far as to use the Windows XP CD to do a repair of the
windows installation. This problem still exists,
however, I think I have traced it to the .NET passport
software. I have gotten to a point where I try to get a
new passport and .NET says it cannot establish a
connection to get the passport. I have a broadband
connection and you could be browsing the internet while
you are doing this, so I know the connection works.

I, too, would appreciate any feedback anyone has.
