Cannot connect to workgroup computers

David

I have a home network with three computers with XP home
installed. I have shared folders on two desktops. They
are all connected through wireless router/switch which
assigns IP addresses through DHCP.

My problem is my laptop. I cannot see any computers on
the MSHOME workgroup. I can connect to the internet. I
was able to see workgroup folders last week, so I know it
was working. I usually connect through wireless, but I
tried through a hard connection and no change.

On the desktop computers, I can see the laptop in the
workgroup, but cannot connect to it using a shared folder
I setup.

When my workgroup disappeared, I was trying to set up a
microsoft briefcase on my laptop to synchronize with a
folder on the desktop. All shared folders disappeared.
I'm not sure it was briefcase's fault but that was the
first application I used before I noticed all workgroup
computers disappearing. I deleted the breifcase and I
went back to a restore point before my troubles.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is Service Pack 2 installed? You can check this by
right-clicking on My Computer, then selecting Properties.
