I have a new (yes) IBM Aptiva that was donated to a non-profit client by
a company that did not use it. The OS is Windows 98. Every time I try to
get to the Internet, I get the screen that hawks the IBM Internet
Connection service, which we obviously don't want. I cannot figure out
how to get rid of it. I have checked all of the settings in IE, and
there is nothing there, sucha s a proxy setting. Therefore, there must
be something in the registry that grabs an Internet request and feeds it
to the IBM Internet Connection software. Does anyone know how I can get
rid of it?

(Posted in another newsgroup, too, which was the wrong one.)
