Cannot Connect To Sites

The Baba

I tried posting this to microsoft.public.access.internet, but there's hardly
any traffic in there, so I figured I'd post it here, too...

My buddy can't connect to a site he usually goes to...
I connect to it just fine from my place...He has no blocking software,
cleared his temp, and internet temp files...I also check his Zone Alarm
settings, and other internet settings, all to no avail...I even had him
download Firefox, thinking maybe it's an IE problem, still no go...

Could it be his ISP, and the problem's there? Any help would be
appreciated...

Thanks,
The Baba

Check his HOSTS file.
Check C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc for a file named HOSTS with no
extension. (Not Hosts.sam)
Make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders and is NOT set to
hide extensions for known file types.
If HOSTS exists, rename it to HOSTS.OLD
Reboot an try again.

Or, In a Cmd window, enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear your TIF also, and re-boot.

Hi, Baba.

I'll let someone else answer your question, but I can clarify that the
..access. newsgroups are for users of Microsoft Access, the database program
available either standalone or as a part of the Microsoft Office suite.

If you need to contact the Internet access gurus, you might have better luck
in microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.setup

Yeah, I know it's confusin'. :^{

Still a no go...I'm stumped...I can get there no problem, but both IE &
Firefox times out...He can surf everywhere else but there...
