I am using an HP MediaCenter PC, which is running Windows
XP Media Center Edition, a superset of Windows XP
Professional. I set up my home network with a Netgear
Phoneline router. The HP uses ethernet to connect to the
router and the other three computers on the network
connect through a phoneline card or USB adapter. I have
DSL connected to the router and have no problems sharing
the DSL internet connection. My problem is that the HP MC
cannot connect to the other three computers. It can see
them in My Network Places, but when I attempt to browse
those computers to transfer files, I get an error
message, to wit: " \\(computer name) is not accessible.
You might not have permission to use this network
resource. Contact the administrator of this server to
find out if you have access permissions. The network path
was not found". I am not using Simple File Sharing, by
the way. The protocols I have installed are NetBEUI,
NetBIOS, IPX/SPX, and TCP/IP. I would appreciate any
help, thanks.
