Cannot Connect Outlook 2003 to Exchange 2003

I have set a user up with a mailbox in exchange 2003, when I try to connect
his Outlook 2003 to his mailbox it says cannot display default folders and
closes Outlook? Any Ideas?

Open the mail profile in Control Panel>Mail and see if the Exchange
connection and username resolve.

Sorry for not defining more. Yes his username and the server resolve fine.
even when you look at the "mail Folders" you see the mailbox with his name,
but when you click on the plus sign to expand the folders, that is when I get
the error sying it cannot display default folders.

Also I tried creating a new "outllook" profile to no avail, still errors out
