Cannot Connect Internet after Installing XP Prof

I hear the modem dial but nothing happens. Won't connect to the 1-800 activation number during loading. Installed AOL 9.0 and it dials endlessly. Went through help and support networking troubleshooter and problem not corrected. Any ideas

Sounds like you need to update the modem driver from the manufacturers
website

Probably you might not have the latest XP driver set for your modem.

Download the latest driver set from the manufacter for XP.
