Cannot Complete the CD Writing Wizard

D

Don S

I have used the XP CD Burning utility before, but now it no longer works.
All I get is this, "Cannot Complete the CD Writing Wizard." I suspect SP2
has something to do with it. I have searched this problem in the newsgroups
but the threads all have a dead end. Not one of them has a happy ending.
Can anyone shed any light? I've done all basics, e.g., services.msc /s,
checked the drive's properties for enabling CD recording, etc., but to no
avail. Help, I've fallen and I can't get up!!

says;
"A1: Try quitting any open programs you have running. If the problem
persists reboot the PC and try again.

A2: If you're using a previously used CD it may be closed. Try another
CD you know isn't closed.

A3: Make sure the total size of your files doesn't exceed the maximum CD
capacity. Most CDs have a max of 650 MB.

A4: You may be having a buffer underrun error (when the CD Writer isn't
getting a constant stream of data). Go to "My Computer," right click on
the CD writer drive, select "properties," and click on the "recording"
tab. Change the speed from "fastest" to a lower one."

try for an XP update for the Adaptec WinASPI-drivers.

use another CD Writing program like Roxio or Nero.
