Cannot close internet browser window

I can get on the internet but when I want to get off of
it, I try to close the window and I can't. When I go to
click the X in the top right corner, it just makes a beep
sound and does nothing. How do I figure out how to make
the windows close? I hate pushing ctrl, alt, del..just to
close my windows and sometimes I don't want to close all
my brower windows. Does any one know how to or where I
can get that fixed?
