cannot close IE

Ever since I purchased my laptop, I have not been able
to "x" out of IE. File exit does not work either. Only
con alt del and going through windows task manager works
to shut down IE. Help please. I have win xp operating
system.

To resolve the issue u have to reinstall Internet Explorer.

Go to Internet Options> Advanced and uncheck "Enable third party browser
extensions."
If that helps then check for adware, spyware, parasites:
