Cannot Burn a CD

I have Windows XP installed and used Easy CD Creator 5
Platinum without problems, until recently. Without
explanation, my computer stopped burning CD's. The
program would run properly and but then my computer would
not recognize a newly-burned CD. I installed/reinstalled
Easy CD Creator and the problem continued. I've tried
other CD burning programs as well, all with the same
problem. So now I'm guessing it is an operating system
problem. The CD drive otherwise works fine, reads CD's,
plays audio CD, etc.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you,

Rex Frazier

Did you install the updates for V5?

As V5 wont run properly without the updates
installed.

Thank you for your message. I ran the updates for v5 and
the program worked properly for 6 months. Then the
program stopped working. Now I cannot burn CD's with
Easy CD Creator or, for that matter, 2 other CD burning
programs I've tried. That's why I think it is a system
problem rather than a problem with any CD burning
software.

OK. Try disabling XP's built in burning

Go to control panel/admin tools/services.

Go to Imapi. Change it to disabled. Reboot

Then see what happens. Are there any errors
at all? Or it just doesnt work?
