Any help with the following would be greatly Appreciated
This morning i used my laptop as normal and promtly shut down. When i cam e to use the Laptop later in the day i began the boot up process. Bios ran as normal and the Windows XP loading screen Appeared as Normal. However, XP will not initiate and an error message returns that Reads
"STOP:c0000218 (registry file failure)
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\systemroot\system32\config\SOFTWARE
IT IS CORRUPT, ABSENT OR NOT WRITEABLE
begining dump of physical memory
physical dump complete"
Is this problem correctable by simply using the boot up disk or will it involve a complete win XP re installation? and if so, does anyone know if my hard drive will be intact?
