Cannot boot to safe mode

R

Rainer Klueting

Hi,

I can't get my Windows XP Home into safe mode. Pressing F8 during
startup does not help. I only realised this today, more than a week
after I bought my PC.

I'm using an USB-keyboard. Does XP recognise key codes from this
keyboard during startup? And if not, how do I get into safe mode?

Thank you for any help.

Click on start>run> type - msconfig - into blank area, click OK, on pop up
click >Boot.INI>
and put a check mark in /SafeBoot. Click >apply> then re-start the computer
via start menu and it'll go into safe mode.

Thanks.

That will do the trick. Thank you!
