Hi,
On my sony vaio laptop upgraded to win xp proffessional
from win xp home. Now the system starts to boot and soon
after the windo Xp screen an error message come briefly
going something like this "not enough virtual memory or
paging for operation" since it comes very briefly can read
word to word.
However the system goes blank and restarts with the same
result. cannot get into safe mode either.

Please syggest solution. I did not make a recovery disk so
cant go back.

Thanks
Drish

As per Microsoft web site, you cannot upgrade XP Home Servicepack 1 to XP Pro without a service pack. But there is a workaround to install a fresh copy of XP Pro, upgrade it to Servicepack 1 and install all the Sony drivers and Applications. I am compiling a document with the installation steps and the web links to download the necessary drivers for VAIO notebooks. I will post it as soon as it is ready
