Cannot add System DSN in ODBC

Hello,

I'm having difficulty adding a system DSN in the ODBC setup on a Win2K
Professional machine. I go thru the entire process, and after testing the
dsn and clicking finish, the dsn does not appear in the list. However, if I
try again, and use the same name for the dsn, it tells me that it already
exists and asks if I would like to overwrite it. The dsn does not appear as
an available data source for the application. The client is on SP4 (although
I believe I've seen the same thing on SP3), and I'm running the Novell
client32 V4.9sp2b with Zenworks management agent. Other software is Symantec
corp ed 8.1, and not all that much else.

Any thoughts or a pointer to a place for better answers would be greatly
appreciated!!

Try deleting all of the Reg_Sz strings named for each DSN's from;
HKLM\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources

and also the subkey for each DSN found at;
HKLM\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\

Then after restart see if it works for you.

(note: substitute HKCU for HKLM if user DSN's)
